Former Blue welcomes Coutinho deal and Courtois angers Chelsea fans with Hazard message

Chelsea could sign Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho in the summer transfer window if they get their transfer ban overturned, says former Blue Craig Burley.

Coutinho is regarded as one of the finest creators in Europe and was supposed to be the long-term successor to Andreas Iniesta at the Camp Nou, but he has failed to make the kind of impact this season that made him a Liverpool superstar in the Premier league.

And that has led to a lot of speculation that the £142 million rated midfielder could be sold at the end of the season, with some reports even suggesting that Barcelona are willing to cash in if we meet the £65 million valuation, a significant drop in the price of the Brazilian star.

And Burley can see Coutinho coming back to England, but only if we manage to get their transfer ban overturned.

“It’s not easy and it has been difficult for him,” Burley told ESPN FC. “I’ll say it’s possible [for Coutinho to return to England].

“Maybe Chelsea can sign players, potentially if they get this overruled, but it does look unlikely.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois has once again urged Eden Hazard to join him at the Bernabeu in the summer transfer window.

Courtois managed to force his way out of the club after the World Cup last summer after learning of the interest from Madrid, with the Spanish giants managing to seal a transfer deal for the Belgian for just £35 million.

However, we managed to keep hold of star man Hazard during that transfer window after Maurizio Sarri convinced the winger to stay put for at least another season and help the club get back into the Champions League, and challenge for the Premier League title.

But now Courtois has urged his former team-mate to join him at the Bernabeu, announcing he would be happy to see the Belgian make that move to La Liga.

‘He is one of my best friends in football,’ Courtois told El Transistor.

‘I do not know if he’s going to sign for Real Madrid, nor do I know if the club wants him.

‘But for me he’s one of the best of the world and as a friend I would like him to be here.’
