Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt has addressed rumours as he opened up on whether he would leave the club in the summer.

The 24-year-old has struggled for game time at Bayern Munich this season and that has led to alot of speculation in the media suggesting that Bayern may be open to the idea of letting him leave this January window.

We have been linked with a move for the Dutch defender over the past few weeks, but were recently knocked back after Thomas Tuchel revealed that the big man would not be leaving in January

However – the Sky Sports Germany have claimed that Bayern may be open to letting De Ligt leave the club at the end of the season – when they will have more of an opportunity to find an immediate replacement for the Dutchman.

But it seems that his mind is already made up as the defender has revealed that he is very happy at Bayer – Speaking to reporters, the Dutch defender said, “I’m not thinking about that now. I’m very happy at Bayern Munich.

‘Of course, I haven’t had an easy season so far. I was injured for a long time. But at the moment I feel good and am fit, I want to play.

It is no secret that we may be in need of adding a new centre-back to the side as reports suggest that Thiago Silva will be leaving the club – and De Ligt could be an ideal signing.

He is young enough to be handed a massive contract by the club and he is talented enough to be a brilliant addition to the squad – so he is certainly the type of player that the Blues board would love to sign.
