Cole compares Grealish to Hazard amid £60 million Chelsea transfer links

Ashley Cole has backed long-term Chelsea target Jack Grealish to be part of England’s Euro 2020 squad and compared him to former Blues team-mate Eden Hazard.

The Aston Villa star, 25, has made a real impact on the Premier League since he helped Villa get back to the top division and his performances over the past 18 months has led to alot of speculation in the media.

Grealish made his international debut in September before following it up with appearances in the victories over Wales and Ireland, and away from all the transfer speculation, Cole was watching on from the Sky Sports studio and saw enough to convince him that Grealish will have a role to play at the European Championship next summer.

He said: “Grealish was pulling the strings and running the show. When you talk about little magicians who can win you games. He’s one of them. Grealish should go to the Euros if he keeps producing the quality he’s currently producing.

“He’s got that (Eden) Hazard quality, he can beat players left and right, can get fouls for Mason (Mount) and Harry (Kane) to take free-kicks. He will win England points.”

There is no doubt that Grealish has great ability and potential, he is far too good to be playing at a club like Villa. So even though he may be happy where he is right now, and despite the fact he will be part of that England squad in the summer, he needs to be at a club like ours.

He is brilliant, so how could we not want him here?
