Class act ‘happy’ to join Chelsea – board ‘confident’ on £60M signing – Maresca wants stopper signed

Here is a roundup of the latest Chelsea news and gossip you guys may have missed today –
Incoming CHELSEA boss Enzo Maresca is reportedly keen to add a new goalkeeper to the squad in the summer window, with reports Jan Oblak is a wanted man.
Maresca is the man that the board feel can take the club forward after Mauricio Pochettino failed to impress as coach of the club last season – and the Italian will be backed in the transfer window.
And The Telegraph report that the 44-year-old will prioritise signing a new goalkeeper as he looks to improve key areas of the squad that is lacking in real quality.
We made some big signings last summer that they believed would help the club challenge for a Champions League spot and maybe add some silverware to the cabinet.
Oblak has been a name that we have been linked with for the last few years and the Club could be able to get a transfer deal done for the man as Maresca wants a world class stopper added to the side.
With the sporting management headed by Carlos Bucero and Andrea Berta, Atlético intends to carry out a renewal focused on lightening the economic burden of the team, and Oblak, with one of the highest salaries, is in the spotlight.
Despite having a contract until 2028 and a release clause of 120 million euros, the club would be willing to consider offers for the goalkeeper, according to recent reports from the newspaper AS.
BOARD CONFIDENT ON OLISE –
CHELSEA are reportedly very confident that they will land the signature of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace this summer window.
The transfer window is just a few weeks away and although the Blues are still looking to hire a new manager – there is still alot of transfer speculation surrounding the club and players that they could sign.
Olise enjoyed a productive season with Crystal Palace despite only playing 19 Premier League games due to an ongoing hamstring injury, as the winger struck 10 goals and provided six assists in the top-flight as Palace finished 10th under Oliver Glasner.
We attempted to trigger the 22-year-old’s release clause last summer but the player ultimately signed a new deal with Palace, but the Blues are expected to delve back into the transfer window for the Frenchman regardless who the new manager is.
And now journalist Simon Phillips has now claimed that the club are confident they will be able to land him when the market opens. He claims that the west London outfit have been speaking to him for around a year now. His new release clause is believed to be in the region of £60m, while Manchester United are also interested…
He said: “My top source seems pretty confident that we can and will land Olise this summer. We have been speaking to him for a year now and he was just a signature away from joining CHELSEA last summer.
‘His brother is already at the club and just signed a new contract, and Joe Shields really wants Chelsea to sign Olise. Sources would be surprised if he doesn’t arrive at Chelsea this summer, but maintain there is still an interest from Manchester United as well. Release clause around £60m this summer.”
OSIMHEN WOULD HAPPILY JOIN CHELSEA –
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen would ‘happily’ join Chelsea this summer and is ready for the move, Blues insider Simon Phillips reports.
The club have not had the season that many would have hoped for and that is partly down the the fact they have lacked goals all across the season – with Cole Palmer dragging the team over the line on numerous occasions.
Christopher Nkunku has been injured for alot of the season, while Nicolas Jackson has only shown glimpses of the potential that many believe he has, and has been backed to never be a 30 goal a season striker.
That has led to many reports in the media that the club and PSG are ready to fight over the future of Osimhen after he decided that he would leave Napoli in the transfer window and seek a move away from the Italians.
But according to Phillips, Osimhen would quite happily make the move to Stamford Bridge in the transfer market, he said: “It’s all quiet at the moment and the ball remains in Chelsea’s court. An Italian source I’ve spoken to is adamant that Osimhen would happily join CHELSEA and would be up for the move.
“But nothing has advanced as of yet and Chelsea have still been deciding on which striker to go for and whether they can afford to pay up for Osimhen.
‘A deal would need to be done that fully favours Chelsea for this to happen.”
