Exciting Chilwell message sent, Thiago message sent, Koulibaly offer to be made, Havertz ready for Chelsea move in icchelseanews roundup…

Chelsea will now try to lodge a bid to sign up Kalidou Koulibaly.

So far this transfer window, we have dominated the headlines with all the players that they are being linked too, and even though we have not managed to sign every transfer target, wehave done some pretty impressive business already.

Timo Werner has been signed, Hakim Ziyech has arrived, Melang Sarr is one for the Future, Ben Chilwell agreed a deal this week and Thiago Silva is the latest name to put pen to paper and agree a move to Chelsea.

However, reports on the Daily Express have claimed that boss Frank Lampard is not stopping there and will look to continue adding to his back-line, and they claim that there’s a ‘chance’ they will move for Koulibaly, who could leave Napoli this summer.

The Serie A giants know their best chance of strengthening the squad would come by securing a big fee for the Senegal international, who is regarded as one of the best defenders on the planet.

And we could pounce to bring the player, and will reportedly lodge a transfer offer in the coming weeks if they feel they can get the powerhouse for the right amount of money.

Chelsea icon Pat Nevin has backed Ben Chilwell to form a formidable partnership with Christian Pulisic down the left flank.

After months and months of transfer speculation, Chelsea finally ended all the rumours that they were closing in on a deal for Chilwell and agreed to bring the England International to the club in a deal that is worth £50 million.

He will walk straight into that Chelsea side and add some more quality down that left-flank, and with the Blues already having the exciting Pulisic down that side of the pitch, Nevin believes that the pair will form a formidable partnership.

He said on the Chelsea side: “At Chelsea will Ben Chilwell have an intelligent, skilful, pacy winger to work with who has a superb football brain?

“One who has vision, can see a pass and crucially knows when to vacate the space for his mate hammering down the line on that left-hand side?

“A player who on top of that is selfless and keen to build a partnership out there with one-twos, dummies and the ability to draw defenders to make space?

“I may well have given something close to a perfect description of Christian Pulisic just there. That could be one extraordinary partnership if they click.

“We have others who can play out there of course and a Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech or Mason Mount linking up with Chilwell would be also be chilling concept for most Premier League defences.”

Liverpool legend John Barnes has said Thiago Silva’s experience will compliment Frank Lampard’s young team at Chelsea.

We completed our fifth major signing of the summer with centre-back Silva completing his free transfer to Stamford Bridge on Friday after as few days of talks, and it is expected that he will walk straight into the side.

Barnes told Bonus Code Bets: “Frank Lampard’s Chelsea have signed Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, who are all young.

“To bring a Thiago Silva’s experience to the squad after signings like those would be a good move.

“Just because he wants to give younger players a chance, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want any experience in his team.

“Whether Silva is the right player to come into the Premier League at 35 years old in what will be a difficult defensive role, remains to be seen.

“I don’t think signing Thiago Silva on a free transfer means that Lampard’s going against his principles on giving young players a chance.

“You can’t exclusively have young players in a team – Chelsea had problems last season because they were so inexperienced. Bringing some experience in, along with the youth, is a good move.”

Kai Havertz is ready for a big-money move to Chelsea, claims his former Bayer Leverkusen boss Tayfyn Korkut

It is no secret in the media that we are very keen to try and secure a transfer deal for Havertz and have been backed to complete a deal for the German star for months now.

However, the past few days it has been revealed in the media that we are on the verge of signing the talented German star for a fee worth around £90 million, and he will also reportedly sign a massive five-year contract.

And Korkut is not surprised to see a player he once worked with at the Bundesliga giants attracting so much intention, the former Turkey international has been telling Sky Sports of a playmaker he coached at Leverkusen in 2017: “This is possibly the most special thing about him, his mental power.

“You will not see the difference in him whether he is playing against Ingolstadt or Real Madrid, whether he is playing to avoid relegation or win a championship. He will always plays the same and at a high level.

“Even at 17, he did not have ups and downs. It was not about the coach being brave, it was about the player. He gave me that feeling that he could play those big games and he could. He has this unbelievable mental strength. I do not know if it translates into English but he is like an ice man.

“When you watch him now, you cannot tell if he is under pressure. I don’t know what he is feeling inside but he does not show it and that is an important quality if you want to be one of the best.

“Playing for big clubs is different. It is about mental toughness. There are a lot of nice young players out there. But to play for the biggest clubs. To play for Bayern Munich, Manchester United or Chelsea, you need to have something more than just talent. This boy has that.

“It is not about being able to shoot fantastically well or because he can play the final pass, even though he can do those things. It is because of these mental qualities. That is the difference.”
