Lampard hails impact of Ziyech, and new signing announces delight at being a Chelsea player

Hakim Ziyech has opened up about his delight at being a Chelsea player after impressing in the Blues win against Burnley.

The winger is regarded as one of the most creative players in Europe and many were very excited to see him make the move to Stamford Bridge in the summer in a deal that was seen as a real transfer bargain for the club.

He has had to wait for his chances at the club, but the Moroccan hotshot played for 73 minutes in his Premier League setting up the clubs third goal in our 3-0 victory at Turf Moor on Saturday, and many have been raving about his performances.

And after an impressive display, Ziyech has opened up and announced his delight at being a Chelsea player, Ziyech told the official web site: “It has been a really good week for me and hopefully we can continue.

“Especially after the European game, coming here [to Burnley], I think we did a really good game.

“We started well and gave Burnley problems. They had one big chance at the beginning but after that we controlled the game.

“Life at Chelsea is good, I am where I am supposed to be. I feel good and feel at home and everything is fine.”

Meanwhile, boss Frank Lampard hailed the impact of summer signing Hakim Ziyech who has given his side a ‘big boost’.

He said: “I expected a lot of him because I was very aware of his qualities and how important they can be to the club.

“He brings a different property to us, with an eye for a pass, his receiving, crossing and assist-making. But what I have seen since he has been here is his absolute personality when he plays to want the ball.

“His work-rate off the ball is very, very good as well. He has brought those qualities and comes with real confidence. He has given us a big boost. His demeanour, the way he plays.

“Two games in a few days with a trip to Russia for him after being out for so long has been really good by him.”
