Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller insists 21-year-old Chelsea target Kai Havertz will not be sold on the cheap.

Lampard may have one of the most exciting and creative sides in the Premier League right now, but he will need to spend some money in the next couple of windows to improve the side in certain areas, especially with the likes of Willian and Pedro now gone

Liverpool and Manchester United have been keen to make sure that they are the only two sides to challenge for the services of Havertz, who is easily regarded as one of the finest talents in the Bundesliga right now.

But it is our clubthat are now leading the chase to sign the talented German star, who has netted an impressive 37-goals in the last few seasons for Leverkusen to become one of the most talked about players in the Bundesliga.

However, despite the many reports suggesting that  we have already agreed personal terms with the young man, and the rumours they are only prepared to pay £70 million, Voller has once again admitted that Havertz will not leave on the cheap.

He told TalkSport: “We know of the interest of a couple of clubs, especially Chelsea, but for us, the situation is quite simple.

“He has a two-year contract, if anyone wants him on our terms, fine, otherwise he stays here another year and we are happy.

“It won’t be easy, but for a player like him there is no Covid discount.”

Look, if the reports are true and we have agreed a nice big contract with the players agent, then great, the announcement will follow soon and then we can start eyeing up a new defender to sign up.
