Chelsea are willing to make Antonio Rudiger the highest paid player in the history of the club

Rudiger has been brilliant for the club for the last few seasons now and is a real fan favourite with his intense defending, but there has been alot of speculation about his future

Despite the fact he has played pretty much every game for us this season, despite the fact he is a key member of the squad and despite the fact he has been one of the best defenders in the Premier League, he is out of contract at the end of the season

We have been holding talks with the German about a new contract for some time now, but have not been able to get him to commit to the club, even with a reported contract offer of £200,000-a-week

However, with the summer window drawing closer on a daily basis and his exit moving just as fast, we has now learned the club are committed to renewing the contract of Antonio Rudiger and are willing to make him the highest-paid defender in the club’s history.

It is believed that Rudiger wants a contract well in excess of £200,000-a-weeek and would much prefer a fee closer to £250,000 per week

There remains some uncertainty about signing bonuses and agent fees but they appear willing to offer close to the salary that the Germany international requested.

We have said it before and we will say it again, we need to make sure that they keep Rudiger away from the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona, as they would love to add the man to the squad.

He has been brilliant, and even though he does not have many more years left at the very top of the game, he is still an invaluable player of this squad and a man that wouldnt be easy to replace
