£43M star OFFICIALLY sends transfer message to chasing Chelsea
Nico Williams has told CHELSEA he will make a decision on his future after the European Championships.
It is no secret that Enzo Maresca is looking to add some more quality to his attack when the transfer window opens up and is keen to bolster his squad with another winger – to help cove injuries etc.
But clubs will have to match his 43m release clause in order to get a deal done, That is according to Marca, who reports the Basque club will demand the full payment of William’s release clause of €43m,
Addressing his future ahead of Spain’s European Championship campaign, Williams told Cope radio station: ‘I am very happy at Athletic.
‘It is the club that has given me everything, it is the club that has bet on me 100 per cent. I am very happy in Bilbao and that is what I have to say.
‘I have it quite clear. Athletic is my home, I am very happy and what I want to do is focus on the Euros, which is very important because if you are not 100 per cent in a competition like this, it will pass you by and the rest, I do not know what is going to happen.
‘I have told my representatives that I do not want to know anything until the Euros is over. I am 100 per cent focused and my desire is to win the Euros.’
Amid all the speculation – reporter Iomie Stanley says that we should sign the player – He said: ‘He’s fast, powerful and always runs towards the goal and facing defenders with great skills and dribbling, he is a lad with alot of potential and alot more talent.
“He’d be a very good addition to any team as his skills are devastating.’
