Chelsea will look to sign striker in January window

Osimhen

Fabrizio Romano believes CHELSEA will look to strengthen their forward line in the January transfer window, with Victor Osimhen on the list.

Osimhen has ready established himself as one of the very best strikers in the game right now and a man that is tipped to make a big transfer move in the next couple of windows.

He helped Napoli win their first League title for many seasons and led the scoring charts in the process – with reports suggesting that the Italians now value him at around the £170 million mark.

We have somewhat struggled in front of goal so far this season, with summer signing Nicolas Jackson only finding the net three times so far this season.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, Romano told of Boehly’s January plans in attack, stating: “With CHELSEA, a new striker for sure will be discussed ahead of January, while a new centre-back can be a possibility in case they find an opportunity but they’re not desperate to get one, it depends on the market opportunities, so I can’t give names for the moment, but they have excellent directors so I’m sure they will find good options if that’s what they decide.

“For the striker position, we already know about links with Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen, and for sure either of them would be top top signings. For Osimhen, however, I still think a January move away from Napoli is looking difficult.”

According to Janusz Michallik, speaking on ESPN, Osimhen is much more likely to sign for Chelsea, and the pundit says that a move to Stamford Bridge makes the world of sense for Osimhen as the Blues finally look to solve their long-standing striking issue.

“This is no longer a rumour, this is a fact. I’m saying it. CHELSEA need a new striker, Osimhen has been in the rumour mill before. It won’t be cheap and who knows if De Laurentis will let him go, but I just think this is going to happen.

‘A last ditch effort from Chelsea because who else are they going to get?” Michallik said.
