Chelsea target Timo Werner hasn’t expressed a desire to leave RB Leipzig, that’s according to the club’s CEO Oliver Mintzlaff.

Olivier Giroud has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few months as he has shown his unhappiness at not being first choice at Stamford Bridge, and there is a feeling that he will actually depart the club at the end of the current season.

And German striker Werner, is rated as one of the hottest prospects in Europe, with reports in the media all suggesting that he is seeking that big move to further develop his name in the game, with a host of top clubs linked with a possible move.

We failed to get our  transfer business done in the January window but have already kicked off the summer window with the signing of Hakim Ziyech, who will officially arrive when the transfer window officially opens up.

Lampard needs to add a world class defender, a leader at the back, he also needs to add some superstardom to that midfield, a creative force, and he also needs to delve into that transfer kitty, spend some big money and acquire Werner.

But Mintzlaff opened up and said: “I’m deeply relaxed about Werner,” he told Sky Germany. “He hasn’t signalled yet that he wants to leave beyond this season, and he doesn’t have to. He has a contract until 2023.

Look it will be interesting to see how all this transfer speculation plays out when the transfer window actually opens up. But as we know is, that Werner is a brilliantly gifted striker that will indeed score us the kind of goals that he need to keep moving forward.
