Forget Liverpool as 22-goal hitman Werner has been told Chelsea would be a good move to make!

German striker Timo Werner should join Chelsea instead of heading to Liverpool, former Premier League ace Owen Hargreaves claims.

Regarded as one of the finest strikers in the game right now, Werner is heavily tipped to leave RB Leipzig during the transfer window and make that big money move to the Premier League, where a number of teams are reportedly interested in a deal.

However, it seems that Liverpool is the preferred destination for Werner, as the German has come out and stated his desire to make the move to Anfield on a number of occasions, despite the fact they already have the best attack in football right now..

But Hargreaves has opened up and told the little striker, that a move to the Bridge may be the better fit for him, especially as he will not be able to play in front of big man Roberto Firmino.

“He is not going to get ahead of [Roberto] Firmino, who is one of my favourite players,” Hargreaves said while co-commentating on Leipzig’s away trip to Mainz.

“With the way United play right now, I could see him there. They are looking for that number nine position too.

“Chelsea might be a good fit.

“He is perfect for Liverpool in a way but he is not going to get a start.

“He has got all the right attributes but he is not going to play in front of Roberto Firmino.”

We totally agree and if Werner is to move to any club during the summer transfer window, then it should be us! He could answer some serious problems that we ill have up front in the long-term.

Short-term we can do without him, but that doesnt sop the fact that he would be a great signing.
