Get this deal done Frank after £68 million signing drops Premier League hint with Chelsea move on radar
Chelsea target Timo Werner may have stayed at RB Leipzig in January, but he has dropped a big hint that he is keen on a Premier League move this summer.
We served their transfer ban during the summer, appealed it at the beginning of the season and last month found out that they were once again be able to sign a few players in the January transfer window, especially as we needed a replacement for Olivier Giroud.
Giroud has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few months as he has shown his unhappiness at not being first choice at Stamford Bridge, with Lampard even admitting that he could let the Frenchman leave the club in the winter window.
However, despite all the speculation and rumours suggesting that we were keen to nail down a move for Werner during the January window, and offload Giroud in the process, the Blues could now manage to secure any transfer deals.
But German striker Werner, who is rated as one of the hottest prospects in Europe, has dropped a massive hint that he is keen on a move to the Premier League at the end of the current season, he told Kicker: “I can generally imagine playing abroad one day, although I don’t have any specific club where I want to be.
“I am open for everything. I was over in America for a holiday recently and English football was on all of the time.
“That’s an exclamation mark for the Premier League.
“But there are also big, famous clubs and it would certainly be fun playing there.”
Look, the January transfer window is not shut and we should forget about that, but the summer may be a different story and if there is a chance to sign up this young man, he would be a welcomed addition to the side.
