Chelsea fans told Werner signing ‘is perfect’ for the club, and Liverpool!
Stan Collymore believes Timo Werner’s move to Chelsea works out for all parties – including Liverpool.
Werner has been one of the most talked about players of the past few weeks, as all the major clubs are reportedly interested in trying to secure a transfer deal for the pacy little German star.
He has scored 75 goals in 122 matches since making his RB Leipzig debut in 2013. Only Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski (29) has netted more Bundesliga goals than Werner (25) this season.
His performances, and that relatively low price tag on his head has meant that we have made the first move to try and get the little star to sign up, with reports suggesting he has agreed a £170,000-a-week deal to make the move to London.
Now former Premier League star Collymore has opened up and claimed that Werner’s move here works out well for all parties, even Liverpool, who were seemingly leading the chase before we swooped in.
He told The Mirror: “The deal to take Timo Werner to Chelsea is a perfect arrangement for all concerned.
‘Perfect for the player, perfect for the Blues, perfect for RB Leipzig, who are trousering £53million, and perfect for Liverpool as well.
‘He’s a good, solid striker with promise — an all-rounder who holds the ball up well, is mobile, gets into the box and scores goals.
‘But the Liverpool fans sobbing about missing out on him can spare me the tears because he’s not Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo and the way some have reacted, you’d be forgiven for thinking he was some sort of reincarnation of both.”
It doesnt matter if it suits Liverpool, at the end of the day, he is better off coming to the Bridge and making a name for himself in London, as we will be challenging for trophies next season
