Chelsea would be able to snap up Timo Werner in the summer for just £25 million, according to reports in the media today.

German striker Werner, is rated as one of the hottest prospects in Europe, with reports in the media all suggesting that he is seeking that big move to further develop his name in the game, with reports in the media suggesting that Liverpool are winning the race to win the mans signature.

However, there has been no indication that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will actually make the move for Werner, so unless one of his big front three leave the club, it would be unlikely that he ends up at Anfield, meaning that the likes of we could seal a bargain transfer deal.

Sport1 are now claiming that his release clause is actually only worth £25m plus additional performance-based bonuses, and that will only increase the levels of demand for the striker, especially as many clubs expected to pay around £68 million to try and secure a transfer deal.

Former Liverpool hero Hamann recently opened up and admitted that he is better off joining the likes of Chelsea in the summer rather than Liverpool, as he would be more inclined to get game time, In a column for German outlet SKY,, ex-Reds midfielder Hamann wrote: ‘Timo Werner has continuously improved, he has scored again in the Champions League and has already scored more than 20 goals in the Bundesliga this season.

‘The question is: does he match Liverpool? For me he is strongest when he comes through the middle and can use his greatest weapon: his speed. ‘With [Roberto] Firmino, Liverpool have a striker who is always playable and connects a lot with his team-mates.

‘If Werner went to Liverpool, I would rather see him outside, but there are two absolute grenades in the team with [Sadio] Mane and [Mohamed] Salah. If none of the three strikers get injured or move, he won’t play and I don’t think that’s what he wants. ‘Liverpool is the absolute benchmark, but in my view he would be better suited to Manchester United or Chelsea.’
