CHELSEA Under-18s goalkeeper Jack Austin has signed his first professional contract, the Blues have announced on the club website this week after the young man impressed the coaching staff.

The Blues posted on the club website: ‘Jack joined the Blues at the end of his Under-14s season following a spell with Cambridge United. He has progressed through the age groups and last term helped our Under-17s win the Premier League Cup after defeating Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

‘He has featured for our Under-18s this season against Brighton & Hove Albion, Arsenal and Leicester City and signed his pro deal after celebrating his 17th birthday.

‘Congratulations, Jack!’

We have seen in recent years that there are many players at the club that have been unable to break their way into that first team having been at the club since they were very young, so Austin will be hoping that is not the case for him.

He has been at CHELSEA for a good few seasons now and earning this massive contract is the first step into living his dream of playing for the Blues first team at some point, so we are delighted to see that he has signed his first big contract.

Well done mate.

NKUNKU TO LEAVE?

Christopher Nkunku is reportedly unhappy at CHELSEA and the Blues have now named their price for the forward as Manchester United ponder upon a move ahead of the opening of the January window in just a few months time.

Nicolas Jackson has been criticised for his wayward finishing since his move to Stamford Bridge, but is seemingly the player that Enzo Maresca believes will be the club long-term number one striker, and has been given more opportunities to shine under the Italian.

That has led to alot of speculation in the media that Nkunku may look for a move away from the club, with PSG just one club that are reportedly very interested in getting some kind of transfer deal done for the player, but it seems he will not be leaving yet.

Manchester United have reportedly shown an interest in getting the player all signed up when the transfer window opens up, and now, As per The Telegraph, the club aren’t fully opposed to letting Nkunku leave in January as long as they can recoup the full £52 million ($66.9m) that they paid to sign the Frenchman last summer despite the two parties still having a contract until the summer of 2029.

Glenn Hoddle recently questioned if Christopher Nkunku wants to stay at Stamfprd Bridgehe said of Nkunku: ‘The injuries are obviously there, he knows he’s not quite at his sharpest yet.

‘When I look at Chelsea’s forwards, I think Nkunku would be more clinical than Nicolas Jackson if he had the same time on the pitch and had his chances so far this season.

‘Jackson is obviously improving and getting more confident, he has the manager’s faith and backing right now.

‘Whether Nkunku is going to be happy… he might be one that will think he needs to leave come January if this is still happening.’

CHELSEA WANTS TOMAS ARAUJO

Fabrizio Romano has said CHELSEA are big fans of Tomas Araujo, who is currently a regular at the back for Benfica, and are ready to make a move for the defender as they seek to improve that back-line.

Despite the clubs quality attacking ability, there has been some issues that is causing Enzo Maresca at the back as the club have been unable to fill the leadership void that Thiago Silva left after he decided to depart the club and top level football.

There has been so much speculation and rumours linking the club with all sorts of top level defenders, and now it seems that the board are eying up a potential move to bring Araujo to the Premier League from Benfica.

Araujo has established himself as one of the best young prospects in his country since breaking into the first-team squad at SL Benfica. A native of Famalicao, he spent his formative years with four clubs in Portugal before graduating from the youth division at SL Benfica.

Now, according to the O Jogo Newspaper (Tuesday November 12), Chelsea are one of a host of Premier League clubs who have made contact with the Champions League side about potentially signing him.

We have been so happy with so many signings this season, but there are also a number of players that were not ready to join a massive club like Chelsea. Araujo is a talented defender that could have a bright future in the game, but i would much prefer the club try and sign a player with a bit more experience.
