Chelsea urged to keep powerhouse star at Stamford Bridge
Glen Johnson has urged CHELSEA to keep ‘calm and composed’ star Armando Broja amid the latest batch of transfer rumours.
Broja is one of the most highly-rated strikers in the Premier League and a man that the club had big hopes for after his stint with Southampton jus a few seasons ago, but it not worked out well for the lad.
A combination of changes at the top, management, poor performances and injuries have kept Broja well out the team over the last couple of seasons, but he has been given a chance in recent weeks.
But According to reports in Italy, Inter Milan are interested in bringing in Broja when the January transfer window opens and they have been monitoring him for years. But Johnson is a big fan of the 22-year-old and would like to see his old club keep the striker.
‘He’s got age on his side, he’s a very good technical player and he’s calm and composed in front of goal, which is something you need if you’re going to be a striker for a top team.
‘He’s yet to hit the heights, but he’s young and definitely worth having as an option for Chelsea and it’s better than them spending an awful lot of money on somebody else.’
Broja is a very talented striker, there is no doubt about that and if he is given a real chance to shine at Stamford Bridge, he could score some goals. But he is not a player that can bang in 20,30 goals a season.
