Premier League hero Robbie Earle urged CHELSEA to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in the January transfer window.

Ramsdale featured in the opening four games of the season for Arteta and co. But David Ryaa has started to establish himself in that Arsenal side and there is a feeling that Arteta believes the Spaniard is the way forward.

And that has led to many reports in the media suggesting that Ramsdale is open to the idea of leaving Arsenal if he does not get more game time, as he wants to be on that plane for the England Team at the European Championships.

Now, amid the speculation that we are keen on a deal, the club have been encouraged to make a move for the man, Earle said: ‘If I’m Chelsea, I’m phoning up and saying I’ll take Ramsdale, give me Ramsdale my friend if you’re not going to use him, because Ramsdale is at the level you’re talking about.

‘Ramsdale’s talking about he’ll have to go and play somewhere if he’s going to be in the Euros.

‘If he’s overlooked by Arteta – I don’t know why Arteta wants the two goalkeepers and all that, and we’ve heard all the reasons behind it – if I’m Chelsea right now, I’d go and put it amongst them.

‘I’d take Ramsdale because he’s at the level you’re talking about that CHELSEA need.’

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry recently opened up and told Ramsdale that he should wither fight for his place in that Arsenal side or look for a way out of the Emirates.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

“You are at a big club. Competition will happen,” Henry explained on the Rest Is Football Podcast. “I am not the coach of Arsenal, but Mikel Arteta went to get a guy that he thinks will win him the title.

“[Aaron] Ramsdale was seen as the guy to get us in the top four again and Bernd Leno went to Fulham. That is the story of football. I can understand with the new generation but there is something that will never change at a big club, you have got to compete. If you don’t compete, someone is going to come.

“If you take Phil Foden, he is a very good player but Manchester City keep buying players. You are at a big club and that’s how it is, and if you are not happy at the big club, then you have got to go.”
