Here is the latest Chelsea news, gossip and transfer talk from icchelseanews that we think you may have missed featuring Caoimhin Kelleher, Dani Olmo and Marcus Rashford…

Jason McAteer has urged CHELSEA to sign Caoimhin Kelleher and believes the Liverpool star would cost ‘in the region of £30m to £40m’ when the January window opens up in just a few weeks time.

Kelleher has made 12 appearances for Liverpool this term with their No.1 ‘keeper Alisson Becker struggling with a hamstring injury, but now that the Brazilian star is back playing, the Irish stopper will once again find it hard to get the game time he deserves.

The Irishman has made no secret of his desire for regular first-team football, explaining his stance to The Telegraph in October that he wanted to play, and with the club reportedly looking at signing a new stopper in the coming windows, they Blues have been told to make a move for Kelleher.

‘I think Caoimhin got to the point in his career now where he’s going to have to make a big choice at the end of the season,’ McAteer told beIN Sports. If he wants a career somewhere else and play rather than just sit on the bench waiting to get in to play in a number of games for Liverpool.

CHELSEA is the big one. [Robert] Sanchez, I don’t think he’s… no. I think you should get Caoimhin [Kelleher] now.

‘I think his valuation certainly would have gone up over the last couple of seasons with what we’ve seen.

‘You’re probably maybe looking in the region of £30 to £40 million for him. With Mamardashvili coming in, I think that’s saying to him [he can] go and have a career [at a different club].’

OLMO FOR FREE?

There may be some reports emerge which give the likes of CHELSEA the chance to sign Dani Olmo from Barcelona in the January window, as the Spaniards may be forced to sell the midfielder.

The former RB Leipzig playmaker has warmed to life at the Camp Nou, notching six goals in 12 appearances across all competitions from the heart of Barcelona’s midfield. He has definitely proven his worth to summer managerial appointment, Hansi Flick.

However – the Spaniard had only been registered for an initial six-month period, and the Catalans face another race against time to register their man for the second half of the season.

The news will alert a number of sides in the Premier League to a possible deal for one of the most creative players in La Liga right now, and a player that we were very much interested in signing before the decision was made to make the move to Barcelona.

But as per the report from Mundo Deportivo, there is a unique clause in Olmo’s contract which indicates that should the player not be registered for the club in future windows, he would then be able to depart as a free agent.

It shows just what kind of financial difficulty that Barcelona are in that we could land Olmo in a free deal, But despite the quality he would bring, it will all work out at Barca and he will stay put

RASHFORD GREEN LIGHT GIVEN

Marcus Rashford’s time at Manchester United could be nearing its end as the Red Devils welcome offers for the ‘distracted’ forward, which will alert the likes of CHELSEA to a potential deal for the England star.

Rashford has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons again this season and looks nothing like the player that netted 30 goals for Man United  just a few seasons ago.

He really struggled last season under boss Erik Ten Hag and has only managed to score 8 goals in all competitions for Manchester United, which is not good enough for a player of his ability and quality when he is on top of his game.

Now, According to the Telegraph, United started welcoming bids for the 27-year-old last summer following a drastic loss of form, and are ready to let him leave the club when the January window opens up next month.

We were heavily linked with a move for Rashford in the summer window, but opted to not make a move for the winger as he would have cost far too much money.

A few seasons ago Rashford had the world at his feet, he was well on his way to becoming one of the very best footballers in the world, but that has all changed now and he looks like a player that is not good enough for a move to Stamford Bridge, even to add some depth to the side.
