Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish has opened up and admitted his delight that Chelsea let Marc Guehi leave the club
Much of his first team experience to date was collected while with Swansea in 2020-21. He made 45 appearances for the Swans in all competitions, helping them to the Championship play-off final, and also figured for his country in the group stage of the European U21 Championship.
So with the club looking to raise some funds this transfer window, they opted to let the brilliantly gifted defender leave the club this transfer window and make that move to Palace.
The defender has signed a five-year deal with the Eagles, joining in a deal believed to be around £20 million ($28m), and Parish has admitted just why the club were so keen to wrap up a deal for Guehi, he told the club website: “We’re delighted to have signed Marc for Crystal Palace. He’s an exciting talent and one we believe will be a valuable addition to the squad as we build towards the coming season.”
Guehi is one of those players that has the potential to be a massive defender in the Premier League, so it is a massive shock to see that we have decided to let him leave the club before giving him a real chance in the side
But £20 million is alot of money for a defender with now real experience, so Palace fans will indeed be hoping that he makes the kind of impact at the club that many are hoping for
Good luck mate
