Chelsea told to sign world class act – £50M star ready to sign – Dutchman wanted amid Chelsea talks
Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –
Barcelona are said to be eyeing a surprise move for CHELSEA youngster Ian Maatsen on a free transfer next summer.
Maatsen is a lad that Mauricio Pochettino has used in the opening weeks of the new Premier League season after the Dutch lad had an impressive pre-season with the Blues.
There was alot of interest in the Dutchman this summer, with the likes of Burnley and Newcastle United just two clubs that were reportedly interested in a deal for the defender, but in the end, he stayed put as he wants to fight for his place in the side.
Recent reports have claimed that the club are keen to tie Maatsen down to a new contract at Stamford Bridge as his future at the club depends on whether or not he signs a new contract.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
We want Maatsen to sign a new contract at the club after he failed to leave on deadline day. But his future depends on whether he will agree to a new deal, as his current contract runs out at the end of the season
And According to reports from Spanish outlet Sport, the Spanish giants are said to be monitoring the situation regarding the 21-year-old’s contract at Stamford Bridge, given Marcos Alonso’s own contract is set to expire next year.
Maatsen’s deal expires on June 30 and negotiations could take place as early as January, with Barcelona potentially able to negotiate a pre-contract deal to secure him for nothing in the summer.
GALLAGHER EYES DEAL –
Conor Gallagher is open to signing a new contract at CHELSEA after becoming a key player under Mauricio Pochettino.
Gallegher had been in the transfer headlines alot this summer as it was believed that the club would have allowed him to depart the club if the right offer was made.
That has led to constant speculation in the media that West Ham are very keen to try and get a deal done for the midfielder – and even made an offer of £40 million, which was rejected by the Blues as they were seeking closer to £50 million for Gallagher.
He has featured in the opening weeks of the season for Mauricio Pochettino and is beginning to look like the player that many tipped to become a world class act just a few seasons ago.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
According to the latest reports on the TalkSport website, Gallagher is now all set to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
The report says that Gallagher has been a mainstay of Pochettino’s midfield and has even donned the captain’s armband and the Blues are now expected to open talks over a new deal.
IcChelseanews View…
There is no doubt that Gallagher is a talented midfielder that could shine under Pochettino – so if the boss wants him at the club – stay. Especially as there is a place for him in the side.
There has been so much speculation about his future for seasons now, so this new deal will kind of end the immediate speculation surrounding his future and keep him settled.
IVAN TONEY MESSAGE –
Pundit Iomie Stanley has claimed that Ivan Toney would be an upgrade on Nicolas Jackson for CHELSEA.
The club needed to splash some cash in the transfer window and add players to the side that will make a difference this season, and decided to make a move to sign Nicolas Jackson from Villareal.
The speedy attacker had been making a real name for himself over in the Spanish League and the board believed that the £24 million would be a good investment on a striker that has alot of potential.
However – he has not yet made the impact that the club would have liked and there is speculation that we will splash some more cash in the January window to try and sign Ivan Toney from Brentford.
And amid all the speculation, Stanley has opened up and claimed that Toney would be an upgrade on Jackson, while also claiming that Tottenham should make a move to try and get a deal done.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
He said: “I think Toney is an upgrade on Jackson at CHELSEA, who’s a bit raw still and still has alot of developing to do over the next few seasons.
“But he goes into most teams, apart from Man City, and i believe that Chelsea will want to make it happen, and they’ll give him the kind of deal that has tempted so many players to the side already.
“But I think Spurs should look at him as well. They’ve got Maddison, Son, Kulusevski – but they’re missing a top striker.
“I think he will have his pick of clubs. Strikers like him are rare, and they’re sought-after, but if they are willing to pay the money, then Pochettino will solve a big problem for the club.
