Here is the latest Chelsea news and gossip from icchelseanews that we think you guys could have missed today…

Former Blues star Glen Johnson has opened up and claimed that CHELSEA should look to sign Lautaro Martinez – as he could be the dream signing for Blues boss Enzo Maresca.

Enzo Maresca has come in and started the season in decent fashion – he has got this side playing some very exciting football and that is why they are better off this season that they were last season.

The club already have a number of talented forwards, including Nicolas Jackson, who has produced five goals and three assists in eight top-flight games this term.

Christopher Nkunku has also impressed for the west Londoners with seven goals across 12 games in all competitions so far this season, but Johnson has opened up and claimed that the club need to sign a proven striker in the coming windows.

In order to close the gap to the likes of Manchester City, though, we may need to add a superstar and Johnson feels Inter Milan’s Martinez is the perfect fit.

Martinez has been at Inter Milan since 2018, conjuring up 133 goals and 46 assists across 291 games for the Italian side.

‘I would love to see Chelsea make a move for Lautaro Martinez at Inter Milan,’ Johnson told Genting Casino. ‘He’s a proper goalscorer. I’m sure there are loads of clubs that would love to sign him, not just CHELSEA .

‘He’s one of those players who probably doesn’t get the respect that his talent deserves or doesn’t get a fuss made over his talent.

‘I don’t understand why that is because he’s got everything that you would look for in a striker. If I could pick anyone for Chelsea to sign, I’d pick him.’

IcChelseanews view…

Jackson and Nkunku have been brilliant this season and are performing very well – i doubt a new striker will be signed in January – and i believe that these two could score some serious goals in the coming months.

CHELSEA WANTS ARAUJO –

CHELSEA should pay big money and try to sign Barcelona star Ronaldo Araujo this coming January window – reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed

Araujo is a player that was heavily linked with a move away from Barcelona in the summer window, but despite all the rumours and despite all the speculation, Barca opted to keep hold of the defender.

But according to Caughtoffside, the club are now very much interested in a deal for Araujo and are ready to make an offer in the January window.

Barcelona are standing firm over Araujo’s availability and will not consider selling the 26-year-old unless they receive a transfer fee above €100m (£84.6m).

The report claims that ManUnited and Bayern Munich, who tried to sign Araujo in the January transfer window, have all made approaches for the defender.

But if you believe the words of reporter Iomie Stanley – Chelsea should pay that for Araujo – he said: ‘If Barcelona make the decision to sell the defender in the January window – he would be a brilliant addition to that CHELSEA side – especially now that The club needs a leader at the back..

‘Maresca will want players that are proven at the very top of the game and he will need the backing of the board if he is to get the players he feels could take the club forward in the coming season.

‘Araujo would be a great signing for the club that is for sure and would that would improve that Blues back-line – CHELSEA should pay that £80 million for the defender.

‘They are wasting millions on talents – Araujo is proven – he is quality – he is the leader that could replace Thiago Silva.’

CHELSEA WANTS VLAHOVIC

CHELSEA have reportedly contacted Juventus and asked the Italians to be kept informed about a possible transfer deal for striker Dusan Vlahovic.

The Italian side are said to have put a €100million price tag on Vlahovic’s head which could ‘complicate’ any move for the Serbian international in the January window. The report adds that this price could decrease as the player’s contract ticks down as the club do not want to risk seeing him leave for a vastly reduced sum over the next year.

According to a report from TBR, the London club is interested in the services of Dusan Vlahovic and they have asked to be kept informed about his situation at Juventus.

The Serbian striker has seven goals and an assist in his ten outings this season. His current deal with the Serie A giants runs until the summer of 2026 and they are confident that he will pen down a new deal despite turning down an offer earlier in the year.

if he doesn’t agree to sign a new contract offer before the end of the season, the Old Lady will look to sell him in the summer of 2025.

Reporter Iomie Stanley recently claimed he could be a great signing for the club: “Vlahovic was a name hugely linked in connection with signing for the Blues in 2022 and has been regularly named in transfer windows since.

“Having scored 44 goals in 109 Serie A games for Fiorentina, he decided instead to make a £66.6million move to Juventus over the Premier League and is once again banging in the goals on a weekly basis.

“Juventus are under no pressure to sell the striker in the coming transfer window – but if there is an offer that they simply cannot refuse – then we are sure that he will go for less than that 100 million valuation.’

‘Vlahovic is a very good striker that could be a very good signing for CHELSEA – he is one of a number of options for Enzo Maresca – he could be a very good signing for the right price that is for sure.’
