CHELSEA have been urged to press hard for the signings of Arsenal target Nico Williams and Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

The club have been all over the transfer headlines over the past few months – but over the past few days there has been some talk that we are very much interested in Nico Williams and Alexander Isak.

Isak had an amazing season last year for Newcastle and finished the season with an impressive 24-goals in all competitions – meaning that all the big clubs have been interested in a potential deal – even with his £100 million asking price.

Williams is staring for Spain at the Euros right now – but is one of the best wingers in La Liga and finished the season with a stunning 16 assists to his name – meaning that he is also a player that the club would like to add to the squad.

Now Ex-Blues and England left-back Wayne Bridge believes new Stamford Bridge chief Enzo Maresca would struggle to better such a double swoop in those positions – Bridge told Betfred: “Isak’s already doing well in the Premier League.

“Sometimes if you buy a player from abroad, they don’t adjust immediately… and every so often it doesn’t work at all.

“Isak would be the striker I’d like to see Chelsea sign this summer.”

Bridge then compared Athletic Bilbao’s Spain star Williams to Chelsea’s England 2024 starlet Cole Palmer.

He added: “He’s similar in a sense because whenever he’s on the pitch you think something’s going to happen.

He’s an exciting player and he’s a proper winger because he’s quick and direct. I’d love to see him at Stamford Bridge and he’d be a joy to watch in my opinion.”
