Sarri alert! Chelsea told £63 million Rodriguez wants to leave Bayern Munich in summer
Chelsea could make a move for James Rodriguez after German football expert Raphael Honigstein claimed he wants to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
Arsenal were linked with a loan move for James in January, as reports suggested that Emery was keen to add the Colombian superstar to the squad as he looked to find an adequate replacement for the unimpressive Mesut Ozil.
[the_ad id=”164″]The logistics of the deal never seemed to make sense though as James is still on a two-year loan move from Real Madrid, meaning that a deal would have become very complicated between the three clubs, and considering there was just a few days left in the window, the Gunners didn’t have enough time to complete a move.
However, with reports we could lose the likes of Eden Hazard and Willian, Maurizio Sarri could make a move for the £63 million rated star, as he will be keen to keep on improving his underwhelming attack in the summer.
“Despite all his undeniable skill, he’s not done enough to convince successive coaches that they should build their team and system around him and his preferred No. 10 role,” he wrote in his column with ESPN.
“What he really wants, in terms of importance and freedom on the pitch, is probably unattainable at Bayern Munich.
“On top of that, there are serious doubts whether he really wants to stick around for much longer, either.
“His father, Wilson, this week talked up the potential of James joining Juventus at the end of his loan this summer.
“Stranger things have happened in football. But as things stand, Bayern fans are best advised to enjoy the South American’s trickery while they can.
“He’s unlikely to wear the red shirt again come August.”
Here is what we think.
Rodriguez would be a brilliant buy if we could complete some kind of deal.
