‘Chelsea to sign very expensive striker in January – Frenchman has claimed
CHELSEA are reportedly set to sign a very expensive striker in the January transfer window, according to journalist Julien Laurens on ESPN.
The club have spent over £1bn since Todd Boehly’s consortium bought the Premier League club last year, with the likes of Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Cole Palmer Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku among their marquee summer signings.
But they have a squad that is for the future, they have been signing players that will not make the immediate impact that Mauricio Pochettino wants.
But it is no secret that Pochettino would like that board to splash the cash and bring in a striker that will make an immediate impact, and will also send a message to the rest of the Premier League.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
Laurens has told ESPN (Via MSN) that he expects Todd Boehly will try bring in an expensive striker for Mauricio Pochettino after failing to get the boss the kind of striker that he wanted at the club
Laurens mentioned Dusan Vlahovic as the kind of centre-forward he could imagine for the club, though he didn’t necessarily specify if it would be the Juventus and Serbia front-man that they’d be going for.

The club can keep splashing the cash and spending all this money on players that have potential, but the board need to make sure that players are signed that will make an immediate impact on the side.
If we are going to sign a striker in January, we are hoping it is a proven one.
