Chelsea have now decided that they will hand Conor Gallagher a massive contract after his decision to stay at Stamford Bridge in January

Gallagher is one of the most talented midfielders in the Premier League and has been given a real chance to shine this season under the guidance of Graham Potter.

However – there has been alot of speculation about his future at the club and whether or not he will leave – especially with all the signings that the club have been making over the past few months.

He was subject of a hefty bid from Premier League strugglers Everton on deadline day, but opted to stay in London and fight for his place, and now he is all set to be rewarded according to the DAILY MAIL

Gallagher is believed to currently be earning £50,000 per week at Stamford Bridge, and that could be as much as doubled on a new deal. He is currently tied down until 2025, with an extension on that also expected.

However – amid the speculation – Former Liverpool star Stan Collymore claimed that Gallagher will be leaving the club soon, Speaking to CaughtOffside, Collymore said: “In terms of players leaving, they’ll want to keep a large chunk of their homegrown British players but Conor Gallagher is one I can see being moved on.

“If it were up to me, I’d let him go, either out on loan or permanently. He’s a player they could get a really good fee for and they’d not be short of suitors. The likes of Everton, Aston Villa, and maybe even Newcastle United, would all probably be interested.”

Gallagher is a very gifted young man, there is no doubt about that. But does he have the quality to keep world class players on the bench? Can he develop into one of the best in his position?

He may want to stay and fight for his career – but is that the best option?
