Chelsea to open talks and hand impressing Frenchman nice big contract

Chelsea are reportedly set to offer Kurt Zouma a new contract, journalist Fabrizio Romano has told the media.

Zouma was the subject of intense speculation over the course of the transfer window, and there was alot of rumours that the likes of Everton and Tottenham were prepared to take him away from Stamford Bridge, but despite the rumours, and despite the fact he was not seen as a regular starter, Frank Lampard opted to keep hold of the Frenchman.

Lampard then added the veteran Thiago SIlva to that back-line, and since doing so, Zouma has looked like a totally different player, solid, powerful and ready to send a statement to the rest of the squad, that he deserves to be starting.

And after his incredible rejuvenation at the club, Lampard is said to be happy with his performances this season and sees him as a ‘future leader’ at the club, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano Tweeted: “Chelsea will soon negotiate a new contract extension for Kurt Zouma. Player is very happy at the club, Frank Lampard is happy with him and sees his ‘new leader’ as the future of the club.”

There are many  fans out there right now that firmly believed that Zouma would be leaving the club in the coming transfer windows, but he has performed very well and deserves the new contract, if the reports are true.

So the news that he will be getting a new contract at the club will come as some great news for fans, who have always believed that he has the potential to go on and become one of the very best defenders in the Premier League.
