Chelsea to make stunning Spanish move as Poch heads towards exit signs!

CHELSEA FC are the latest club to be linked with a sensational move for Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso.
The club have massively struggled under Mauricio Pochettino in his first season with the Blues, despite the club having spent well over £1 billion since the takeover of Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
This season, they have once again failed to impress in the Premier League. However, they had a golden opportunity to win a trophy this season when they took on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final but ended up losing the match late in extra-time.
The board are not in the mood to make a quick decision about the future of Pochettino – but he will be given time to turn things around between now and the end of the season, but contingency plans are being made.
The 42-year-old Alonso, who was an instrumental figure in Rafael Benitez’s Champions League-winning Liverpool side, has Leverkusen eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and yet to lose a league game.
The Spaniard has also been linked with the Bayern Munich job after they announced Thomas Tuchel would depart at the end of the season, while the likes of Liverpool are also interested in a deal for the boss.
Reports in Germany suggest that Liverpool have already reached out to Alonso’s agent Inaki Ibanez as they look to secure him as the club’s next manager.
Leverkusen’s sporting director, meanwhile, has said he is ‘calm’ and ‘optimistic’ that Alonso will snub approaches for him in the summer and remain with the club next season.
