Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick has insisted he is trying his best to convince Thiago Alcantara to stay, amid speculation that Chelsea are interested in a deal.

Boss Frank Lampard has been a very smart man so far during his time, and has started already planning for the future of the club with a number of top-class signings that will ultimately improve this side.

But there has been reports that he is still looking to add a bit quality, creativity and world class ability to his already impressive midfield and has been keeping a close eye on the developments involving Thiago.

Recent reports on the BILD website claimed that Thiago has snubbed the latest contract offer from Bayern Munich, as The 29-year-old reportedly feels this will be the last chance for him to play in his prime for a top Premier League club.

And with the Spaniard’s contract running out, Bayern may have to sell one of the best and most influential players, but have already started eyeing up a possible deal for Kai Havertz

However, despite all the speculation that he wants a fresh challenge, Flick has insisted he is trying his best to convince Thiago Alcantara to stay at Bayern Munich this summer.

“The thing is, I always have hope,” Flick said. “I’m actually always very positive about things.

“I also know, of course, that when you’re at a certain age and you’ve already played in the Spanish league with Barcelona and in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, you feel the need to experience another big league.

“That is quite normal and that is also human. I’m trying my best to make sure Thiago stays here and that you can convince him to stay.”
