Director speaks on rumours attacker will join Chelsea in stunning swap deal

CHELSEA have been sent a clear message about the future of Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel this January window.

Nkunku has been at the club for a few seasons now, but has really struggled with injuries during his time at the club, and despite the fact he has 13 goals this season, Nicolas Jackson is seen as the clubs  number one striker.

Enzo Maresca loves to employ Jackson as his main man in the Premier League, meaning that Nkunku has only been able to get much of his minutes in the conference League and cup competitions, which is not what the attacker wants.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Tel has spoken with boss Vincent Kompany and hopes for a successful future in Bavaria, but we are hovering, and The report states that the Blues asked to be informed on Tel’s current availability and initial talks were held over a possible swap deal.

But Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund insists Tel still has a big future at the club: “Mathys Tel is a very important player for us,” Freund said. “We are in very good contact because he’s a great talent and should play an important role for us. We have had many discussions.

“Our clear goal is for Mathys to make his breakthrough with us. We are very happy with our squad, quality and quantity wise.

“Of course if a player is unhappy, we can talk about it. Our clear plan with Mathys is for him to make his breakthrough here.”
