Chief tells Chelsea how they can complete £83M signing

tchouameni

Chelsea have been told by AS Monaco transfer chief Paul Mitchell of what they need to do to complete a transfer deal for Aurelien Tchouameni.

Tchouameni began his career at Bordeaux and made 37 appearances for the club after making his debut in a Europa League qualifier in July 2018 at the age of 18.

He signed for Monaco in January 2020 after putting pen-to-paper on a four-year deal and has been in scintillating form ever since, making 50 appearances for his current club this season.

And With interest high, it could be the case that Monaco sell to the highest bidder – with reports that Thomas Tuchel is more than keen to add some more talent to his squad in the coming days

And amid all the speculation – Mitchell has come out and told the club the criteria it will take to complete a deal for the midfielder – and he outlined that the French giants will demand a ‘fair compensation’ for ‘such an incredibly gifted player’.

Speaking to RMC Sport, the transfer chief said: “I don’t have a preference to be honest. As always when you sell a player, there needs to be fair compensation.

“The market is different every year. Everyone was able to realize what a top player Aurelien is, but everyone also knows that we are an ambitious club with an ambitious shareholder, so no, I have no preference when it comes to selling him.

“We will have to be very aggressive in terms of supply for us to lose such an incredibly gifted player.”

Tchouameni is a special talent that has a very bright future in the game, so if Chelsea do manage to wrap up a transfer deal for the man, he would be a great investment for the club
