Ajax powerhouse and Chelsea target De Ligt drops massive transfer hint
Chelsea transfer target and Ajax star Matthijs De Ligt has dropped a massive hint about whom he would like to play for in the coming transfer window.
De Ligt is regarded as one of the finest young defenders in world football and is tipped to become one of the best in world football after a stunning first few seasons with the Dutch giants, who have just knocked out Real Madrid in the Champions League in sensational fashion.
We have been linked with a move for De Ligt as they seek to buy a long-term investment rather than a short-term fix, although the transfer ban may scupper any chance they have of sealing a deal.

“I really like [Giorgio] Chiellini, he is very strong, one of the best ever defenders,” he said on the TalkSport website.
“I also appreciate [Leonardo] Bonucci, they are two of the best centre-backs in Europe. For a young man like me, they are both two models to be inspired by.
“Me at Juve? It could be, but there are also other interested clubs. We’ll see at the right time.
“Now, I’m focused on Ajax and my agent Mino Raiola will take care of it.”
Here is what we think.
De Ligt is a top-class defender and he would walk into most teams in world football, so where he ends up in the summer will be a massive disappointment to many chasing clubs. But until that dotted line is officially signed, there is still a chance that we could swoop in and bring him to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth £60 million.
We just need to get Champions League football and to try and get that transfer ban overturned.
