Argentine International has agreement to leave Ajax, with Chelsea linked

Chelsea transfer target Nicolas Tagliafico is set to sign a new Ajax deal but can still leave next summer, according to reports.

Despite all the rumours and speculation that we were very keen to nail down Tagliafico, the club opted to splash the cash and bring the impressive Ben Chilwell to the club in a deal worth around £50 million.

However, there is a feeling that we still need to add to this squad in the coming windows, and add another left-back to the squad, meaning that Tagliafico will still be on the shopping list when the transfer window opens up at the end of the season.

And according to De Telegraaf, the 28-year-old could still be up for grabs at the end of the season despite the new contract with the Dutch champions in the offing

The Argentina international is said to have agreed a new deal in principle with Ajax. His agent Ricardo Schlieper has confirmed the club reached an agreement with the player on Thursday afternoon.

However, an ‘informal agreement’ is in place which would allow Tagliafico to leave to ‘pursue his dream of playing in a top competition’ once this season has finished, and the right amount of money is offered to Ajax.

We are a big club and need to add depth to the squad, and that left back area is one that we could work on in the coming windows

Tagliafico is  not the best out there, but for the right amount of money, he could be a good buy right?
