Chelsea get slammed for getting Pasalic transfer deal all done and dusted

Rio Ferdinand has slammed Chelsea’s decision to sell Mario Pasalic to Atalanta this transfer window.

Pasalic moved to Stamford Bridge in 2014 from Hajduk Split after impressing the Blues scouts with some of his performances, but failed to make a single appearance for us having spent much of his time at the club out on-loan to the likes of Elche, Monaco, Milan and Spartak Moscow.

The 25-year-old joined Atalanta on an initial season-long loan in 2018 and helped Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to qualify for this season’s Champions League before agreeing to move to Lombardy for a second season last summer having signed a new contract  until 2022.

But having been settled with the Italians for the last few seasons, he has been keen to make sure that he didnt move back to us this summer and was keen to try and get the club to make the move for permanent, which we agreed to do

We paid around £3m to Hajduk Split for him in 2014, so will now make a decent return on that investment six years later, with the money surely going to possible signings that will come into the club and improve the side.

But after seeing the attackers impressive performances against PSG in the Champions League, scoring the goal that almost took them to the Champions League semi-finals before PSG made a late comeback, Ferdinand has slammed the club for getting this deal done

“Crazy, It’s crazy!” Ferdinand said on BT, “He was a Chelsea player for six years! They’ve just sold him for £12m.”

He wasnt good enough for the club
