Break the record Frank and bring £109 million defender to the Bridge to solve big Chelsea problem

Chelsea will have to break the world record transfer fee for a defender to sign Jose Gimenez from Atletico Madrid, and they should.

We may be getting many in the Premier League excited for the start of next season, especially with the transfer deals that they have already done, but they need to delve into that kitty and land a new central defender.

We have already conceded more goals at the back than any side in the top 10 of the Premier League, and will not be able to challenge for that title if frank Lampard does not get the defensive players that will improve the side.

And that has led to speculation in the media which have claimed that we are lining up a possible transfer move for the very impressive Gimenez, who is very highly-rated over in La Liga and is also being chased by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

But if we want to bolster our defensive ranks with Uruguay international Gimenez they have been told we will have to pay £109.1m, which will break the transfer record for a defender in the game.

£109 million is alot to pay for the defender, but if we seriously need to add another defender to the squad and Gimenez has proven himself at the very top of the game for a while now.

He would most definitely be worth the money and would be a leader at the back that we are definitely lacking.

We believe in Lamps, but to get the club back into the habit of winning the biggest titles, he needs to have a top-class defence and a top-class attack, he will not be able to win it with one.
