£80 million deal on after Lazio announce they are willing to let Chelsea target leave in summer
Lazio are prepared to sell sought-after midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to the likes of Chelsea in the summer.
We were able to delve into their transfer kitty this transfer window after getting their transfer ban overturned just a few months ago, but despite all the talk, and despite all the speculation, Frank Lampard has been unable to complete the transfer deals that he wanted.
Willian has dominated the headlines over the past few months as he will be leaving after failing to agree a new contract with the club, with reports suggesting he wanted a three-year deal to stay, and we were not ready to offer that.
Now we have been boosted on their chase for Milinkovic-savic, the club’s sporting director Igli Tare has claimed the Serie A side will ‘assess’ things at the end of the season.
“The player’s desire is crucial. Generally speaking, if a player thinks that their time is up and wants to go somewhere else, it shouldn’t be a problem,” Tare told Goal
‘Eras come to an end. Just look what happened to Napoli this season. The fact he stayed in Rome for five years is because he has strong links with the city and club.
‘When there was some temptation, a bit on our part, a bit on his, we never went all the way. However, things must be assessed at the end of the season.’
Do we believe that Milinkovic-Savic will go for £80 million during the summer transfer window? We do not.
If he does leave Lazio then the Italian side will need to lower that asking price and make him more affordable to us, as he is simply not worth that money right now, not will he ever be.
