Its been a busy day so here is the roundup of todays latest Chelsea headlines from us.
Maurizio Sarri has told Eden Hazard that he can win the Ballon D’or here at Chelsea, amid speculation leaving for La Liga is his only option.
Hazard is looking to carry on his great start to the new season and add to his eight goals when we take one a very weak Manchester United side later this afternoon, but rather than the media focusing on how brilliant he has been this season, they are all writing about his future at the club.
Hazard has made no secret of his desire to join Real Madrid, with the Belgian admitting in the summer that he was ready for a switch, and he has made no secret of the fact that he is still considering leaving us at the end of the season and signing for the La Liga giants, as he believes that a move to Spain is the only way he can challenge for the Ballon D’or.
But Sarri, who convinced Hazard to stay after his arrival from Napoli, has told Hazard how important he is to the side and how he can still win the Ballon D’or if he commits to the new £300,000-a-week contract offer we have reportedly placed on the table.
Sarri told Sky Sports: “It will be very important for us if he remains. I think also that he can win everything, also the Ballon d’Or, here. For example, if Chelsea will be able to win the Champions League and the Belgium national team will be able to win the European cup (Championships), he will be able to win everything – without playing in Spain.”
Hazard still has two years to run on his current deal at the club and if we cannot convince him to sign a new deal by the summer, then we may be forced to let him leave as he could leave for nothing just 12 months later.
Cagliari will not stand in the way of Chelsea target Nicolo Barella leaving the club when the January transfer window opens up.
With boss Maurizio Sarri looking to continue building on his side in the coming transfer windows, there have been a number of players linked with a possible move to Stamford Bridge and Barella has been a name that has been mentioned.
Barella has a growing reputation on Serie A after a number of impressive performances for the Italian side and that has alerted the likes of Juventus, Arsenal and Liverpool to a potential January battle.
Now we have also been given a huge boost in a chase for the midfielder, as the Italian clubs owner Tommaso Giulini has said they will not stand in the way of big clubs come calling in the January transfer window looking to try and complete a deal.
He was quoted on the Calciomercato website: “Nicolo finally has a coach (Rolando Maran), who can give him a lot. If he stayed then I’d be the happiest man in the world, but it’s equally clear that the lad could have the ambition of playing in the Champions League.”
Chelsea have been alerted to reports which have claimed Real Madrid are ready to cash in and sell midfielder Marcos Asensio this January window.
The highly-rated Spanish star was heavily linked with a move to us during the summer transfer window as Maurizio Sarri was keen to add another midfielder to the squad, but Madrid did not want to do any sort of deal for the star and we eventually signed Mateo Kovacic on a season long-loan.
Asensio has been in the transfer headlines for the last six months or so now with reports he is sick of being used as a substitute at the Spaniards, and after only being limited to 28 appearances for Madrid last season, his start to the new La Liga season has not got any better.
Now reports in the Marca website have now claimed Madrid are ready to sell Asensio in the January transfer window, with reports they are looking to revamp and shape the side after a disappointing season.
Madrid are reportedly looking to add the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Eden Hazard and Harry Kane to their squad over the coming months and know they must sell a few players to balance the books, especially since signing those four players alone would cost around £700 million.
And with all the speculation surrounding the futures of Hazard, Willian and Cesc Fabregas, Sarri is looking at possible replacements as he continues to build a squad that is capable of dominating the whole of Europe, not just the English game.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has admitted that he would love to have Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard at Old Trafford.
Hazard has started the new season in stunning form for us and already has eight goals to his name, despite all the speculation surrounding that this will be his last season at the club as he seeks to finally get a big money move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
But away from that, our next focus will be on the meeting with United this weekend as Maurizio Sarri looks to carry on his unbeaten start to the new season with a win over a very weak United squad, that will need dirty tactics and mind games to even get a draw.
And Mourinho has started those mind games by coming out and announcing that he would love to have Hazard in his squad, telling Sky Sports: “I would love to have him in Manchester United but I don’t think Chelsea will be selling to Manchester United so it’s not a problem. History says that when Eden Hazard is the best player in the Premier League, Chelsea is the champion. It happened with me, it happened with Antonio [Conte].
“Chelsea is top of the league now because he is the kind of player that can make a huge difference. Chelsea is led by experience and intelligent people in football. I think they would never sell Eden to Manchester United so it’s not a problem.”
