Christian Pulisic has told Chelsea fans that he is now rearing to go.
Pulisic was brought in with the premise that he could be the long-term investment for the departed Eden Hazard, who left for Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.
However, Pulisic has not had the best of first seasons this season and has been plagued by injuries, which has stopped him from showing the fans just why he is one of the most exciting players in Europe right now.
But the American has now opened up and told fans that he is raring to go: ‘I want to learn to be even more clinical in front of goal continue to boost my numbers, get more goals and assists,’ Pulisic told Sky Sports: ‘I want to be stronger on the ball, being able to hold off players and those are two areas that I’m definitely working on.’
‘I didn’t take it as seriously as I think I should have,’ he said, reflecting on the injury blow that has kept him out.
‘It was one of those you felt you could do a lot of things but you try to push it that one extra step and realise it’s not ready yet.
‘It was a frustrating process but I’m feeling good and ready to go again.’
He added: ‘In times like these it’s nice to be able to spend time with family, finding shows to watch, playing video games and being able to work out.
‘We’re training, following all the government guidelines and hopefully we’re back playing soon.
‘I’m a big fan of golf and basketball and I’ve got a miniature hoop here so I can shoot at my house.’
Jasper Gronkjaer believes Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek would be more suited to Premier League clubs like Chelsea
Beek made a massive impact in Europe last season when he helped Ajax regain the League title for a good few years, and also helped the Dutch giants reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, impressing everyone with their attacking football.
That led to speculation in the media suggesting that Beek would be the latest name to leave the club when the next transfer window opens up, with reports claiming that Madrid had already swooped in and agreed a fee with Ajax about a deal for Beek.
However, no deal has been concluded yet and we were boosted by the players agent after he came out and revealed that there is still an opportunity for a clubs to wrap up a transfer deal.
Now ex-Chelsea star Gronkjaer has opened up and claimed that Van De Beek would be suited to a move to the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea: “I wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Real Madrid or Barcelona but I would rather see him at a club just below that,” Gronkjaer said on the Metro
“For his style of play alone, clubs like Tottenham or Chelsea would be a better fit.
“They are still top clubs and he is more like Frank Lampard, that kind of player. He is a big guy, box-to-box and takes good long shots, but he is not as technically gifted as other Ajax players.
“He is a player you can always get a certain level from.”
Chelsea are thought to be among the teams chasing Fiorentina starlet Federico Chiesa ahead of the summer window, with interest confirmed.
The Premier League seasons is surely just a few weeks away from being re-started and finished ahead of the summer window, and Frank Lampard will know if his side are in the Champions League spots, and will also know how much money he will be able to spend when the transfer window opens up.
And although he has an impressive array of talent, there is a feeling in the media that the we needs to spend some serious money and add a striker to the front-line, as Tammy ABraham will not be able to do everything himself next season.
Chiesa is being monitored by several top clubs across Europe, with United and Chelsea also facing competition from Juventus and Inter Milan, as he continues to impress over in Seria A.
Recent reports on Italian website Calciomercato claimed Fiorentina will sanction the winger’s departure providing a ‘rich offer’ is submitted.
Now Viola director Joe Barone has confirmed that several teams are chasing the young forward, son of Serie A legend Enrico.
He stated to La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Chiesa is a Fiorentina player.
“There are clubs knocking at the door for Chiesa, some of them who speak English.
“We’ll see, for the moment we just need to finish the season and he is very concentrated on doing well for us.”
Look, if we have the money then yes we should make a move for chiesa.
He is a brilliant young striker that has bags of potential.
For the right money he would be a great buy, it really is that simple.
