Here is todays Chelsea roundup of news, gossip and transfer speculation.

Chelsea transfer target Denis Suarez has spoken about his situation at Barcelona after making a rare appearance in the Copa del Rey.

The young man has been heavily linked with a January move to Stamford bridge over the last few months, as speculation arose in the media which suggested he was fed up of keeping the bench warn and toasty.

And with boss Maurizio Sarri seeking to add a bit more creativity to his side, especially with many reports that a number of first team players could be departing the club, Suarez has been watched on a number of occasions.

Now we have been given a boost in our chase to complete a deal, as Suarez has told Barcelona he will consider his future at the club should he not receive more game time.

“I work to play and I do not have minutes, if I do not play… we’ll see,” he told Marca.

“I want to play, today I had fun and I felt good, at ease. I want to play as much as possible.” (READ MORE)

Chelsea have finally been able to secure a deal for Napoli right-back Elseid Hysaj, according to reports which are circling in the media.

It has been no secret in the media that boss Maurizio Sarri is still keen to improve key areas of the pitch in the January transfer window, as the Italian feels that we are lacking quality in the back-line and up-front, the two areas that we are the weakest.

And with the January window just a few months away, there has been constant speculation in the media that we could bring in the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Milan Skriniar, Daniel Rugani or even Toby Alderweireld, as a number of players have been linked with a mega money move here.

But now reports in the Daily Star website has claimed we have agreed a deal with Napoli to sign Hysaj in the January transfer window, after weeks of speculation that he could be leaving the Italians to seek a fresh challenge.

Hysaj wanted to join us in the summer transfer window, but Napoli did not want to sanction the sale of another big player after letting star midfielder Jorginho head to Stamford Bridge with boss Sarri.

The defender will, according to the newspaper, cost us some £50m to bring to Stamford Bridge. (READ MORE)

Maurizio Sarri says he is keen to bring in a new signing in the January transfer window.

Sarri has seen his side stutter over the past few weeks, losing two games which saw his side fall 10 points behind Manchester City for the title race.

However, a brilliant tactical display from the Italian at the weekend saw us close the gap on Pep Guardiola’s side and put us firmly back in the chase for the Premier League title.

But there are still many out there that believe Chelsea still need a world class defender to come in and solidify the back-line, with recent reports claiming we have already opened talks to sign Elsaid Hysaj from Napoli, while a move for Kalidou Koulibaly has been talked about for months now.

And when asked if he had to spend money in the market to close the gap on City, Sarri said on the Sky Sports website: “Not always. We need to work and improve. We need to understand the style of playing.

“We need to change mentality – not because the old mentality was bad but it is not suitable with the new way of playing. Then after all this, maybe you need one player.

“But you cannot think you can buy 11 new players without problems. Then the problems will be the same. You have to create a new mentality and style of playing.

“We need to arrive at 95 per cent of our potential, then we can get the last five per cent with a new player.” (READ MORE)

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has admitted he does not want any regrets at the end of his career.

Hazard has been the subject of intense speculation for the last six months, as reports in the media have claimed Real Madrid are keen to acquire his services and take him to the Bernabeu in a deal that could be worth more than £200 million.

However, we are in no rush to let him leave without a fight and are reportedly ready to offer him a contract that will make him one of the highest paid players in the premier League, and easily the highest at Stamford Bridge.

Now Hazard has been speaking about his contract situation, and admits he does not any regrets when he retires.

He said on the Chelsea website: “The family is in London, I’m also going to be 28. I do not want to have any regrets at the end of my career.

“It’s a decision I’m going to make, I do not know when, but I’ll take it. You know me, I’ve always loved Real, even before (Zinedine) Zidane. We’ll see what happens.

“As I said, I’m already finishing this year with Chelsea, I still have a year of contract after this year.” (READ MORE)
