Michael Dawson has told Chelsea that they will need to pay upwards of £100 million to land the services of Declan Rice during the summer transfer window.

After another impressive season with he Hammers this season, Rice has developed into one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League and his performances has constantly led to rumours he is on the shopping list of Chelsea

With all the headlines surrounding the club right now it is very hard to believe that the club are thinking about possible signings, but there is always rumours that they are very keen to bring the impressive Rice back to Stamford Bridge

However, he will not come cheap, according to Dawson, who has claimed that any potential club that are keen to secure a deal for Rice will have to pay over £100 million for the Hammers to let him leave the club.

“He is sensational and he deserves to play in the Champions League and he’s got the quality too,” Dawson said during Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports.

“But West Ham don’t want to sell him. Of course they don’t. Moyes doesn’t want to sell him. But everyone’s got a price. You’re going to be paying absolute top dollar.

“But if I’m one of the other so-called big teams in there – take him. You’re going to have to pay, probably, one-hundred, £120 million for him.”

We have said it before and we will say it again, Rice is a very special player that has been brilliant for the last few seasons now, but he is not a player that Chelsea, or anybody else, should pay over £100 million for.
