Murphy claims £70 million midfielder will find it hard to turn down Chelsea move

Danny Murphy believes Declan Rice will find it hard to turn down an emotional return to Chelsea this summer.

Lampard is not fool, he knows that he needs to seriously improve this side over the next few transfer windows in order to get the club from top four chasers, to Premier League contenders, and he needs to add some more fresh meat to the side.

Reports claims Lampard is on the hunt for a new defender this summer and has identified Rice as the ideal man to come in and possibly replace the legend that is John Terry at Stamford Bridge

Reports have claimed that we are ready to pay around £70 million to secure a deal for Rice, and offer him the kind of money that he has not been getting at the Hammers to move on.

Rice came through the academy and was released at the age of 14, before West Ham snapped him up and turned him into a mainstay of their engine room, and now Murphy has opened up and claimed that Rice would find it hard to turn down a move back to Stamford Bridge.

Murphy said on White and Sawyer: “I don’t think it is easy to articulate the importance of supporting a club when you’re a child and then having the opportunity to play for them.

“I’ve been in that position and can you imagine being in that position after your dream being shattered?

“And then having the opportunity again!”

Will he move on? We do not know, but we do know that success is on his mind and he needs to ask himself, will he really get that playing at the Hammers?
