Chelsea pushing ahead to bring world class full-back to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are pressing ahead with plans to land David Alaba on a free transfer, according to reports.

There is big speculation in the media that he is not happy with the current contract offer that has been placed on the table, and is now considering his options this transfer window.

The Austrian international is out of contract at the end of the season – having rejected a new deal reportedly worth £190,000 a week – and despite being a key player for the European champions, he could be on the move.

According to AS, the club will send representatives to talk with Alaba’s agent in the New Year and convince the defender his future belongs at Stamford Bridge, hoping to beat off the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain

And the reports suggest the involvement of Alaba’s agent Pini Zahavi, who has helped Roman Abramovich’s club seal many transfers in the past, is said to help the clubs case.

Alaba is a brilliant player that would suit the Premier League, and although we currently have the impressing Ben Chilwell, it is certainly an area of the pitch that the club will look to improve on.

And the fact that he would be joining the club on a free contract, well that would be some business for the club and a real transfer bargain.

So lets all keep a very close eye on this over the next few weeks because the transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time.
