Chelsea told £45 million target Piatek will leave in the January transfer window?
Genoa have reportedly admitted that Chelsea target Krzysztof Piatek will be leaving the club in the January window.
Despite having one of the best attacks in the Premier League and starting the new season in terrific form, there is still a need for boss Maurizio Sarri to add a new striker to the front line in the January window as Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud cannot score.
Both players have been given a chance and both players have been given the game time to help Eden Hazard out, but so far they have failed to impress the Italian and there is some speculation that he is ready to get rid of one of them and bring in 23-year old Piatek.
Piatek has become one of the most sought after young strikers in world football after taking Serie A by storm this season, netting thirteen goals and putting in some very impressive performances for the Italian minnows.
However, according to Rai Sport, Napoli have made the first move to try and sign Piatek in the January window by offering Genoa £32 million to secure a deal for the forward, a fee which they have firmly rejected as it is not even close t the £45 million they are hoping to get in January after reluctantly admitting that their star striker will leave.
Would Piatek be welcome here?
We have a rich history as being one of the most prolific scoring sides in the Premier League and obviously we have had the strikers that can bring in 20-plus goals a season, so bring in young Piatek would be the icing on the cake.
You don’t score thirteen goals in just nine games and not expect attention from across Europe and for the price he is going for, it is a no brainer that we make a move and bring him to Stamford Bridge.
