Prezioso confirms interest in £35 million Piatek deal as Chelsea looking to seal move?

Genoa chairman Enrico Prezioso revealed that a number of clubs have registered an interest in Chelsea target Krzysztof Piatek.

Piatek is currently taking world football by storm after starting the season in stunning fashion, scoring seventeen goals in all competitions and putting in a number of stunning performances that now makes him one of the hottest transfer targets out there.

And there has been some speculation that we are lining up a January transfer move, as it is believed a new striker would take us to that next level and help challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.

Now, after reports emerged which claimed Genoa have only stuck a £35 million price tag on the head of Piatek, Genoa Chairman Prezioso has revealed that they will sell the striker in the coming transfer windows, but only for the price that he decides.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: ‘We are already getting lots of phone calls for him. I’m sure that a top club will take him away from us.

‘I will decide the price, but a lot of Italian and top European clubs are interested.”

Could Piatek be the signing we are looking for? Here are our thoughts.

It is no secret that we need a new striker to help star man Eden Hazard out in the goal department as Alvaro Morata has only netted three goals this season, while Olivier Giroud has failed to even score, despite playing the majority of games for the club.

And even though Piatek still has a lot to learn in the game, the young man is only on the market for £35 million and could be a terrific long-term investment if we managed to beat off the likes of Juventus and Napoli to complete a transfer deal.

So when the winter window opens up I am very hopeful Sarri delved into his huge transfer kitty and bring Piatek to Stamford Bridge,
