Chelsea star Giroud has transfer announcement as Piatek wanted in bargain deal
Olivier Giroud has admitted that he is more than happy at Chelsea, amid speculation he could be sold in the coming transfer window.
The Frenchman arrived at Stamford Bridge last January and despite some great team play, his goal ratio for us since his move has been pretty poor with his inability to find the back of the net on a regular basis a bit of a frustration for the fans and Maurizio Sarri.
And now there is speculation that Sarri could delve into his transfer kitty in the winter window and acquire the services of Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek, who has scored thirteen goals in just eight games for the Italians this season and is reportedly on the market for just £40 million.
The highly-rated 23-year olf is showing all the qualities a great striker needs to be a huge hit in the Premier League and under the guidance of Sarri, he could dvelop into one of the best forwards in world football.
But Giroud has responded to rumours that he could leave in the coming months by announcing this is the place he wants to be, and there is no reason to depart.
He was quoted on the Daily Express website: “For me, Chelsea is the top club in England, the one that has won the most titles over the last 10 years.
“I am where I wanted to be. So why leave?”
Would we sell Giroud to bring in Piatek? Here is what we think.
Although Giroud has been pretty decent since his arrival at the club, he will not bring us 20-30 goals per season, and that is not what we need to get back to the very top of the game so if there is a chance to sign up Piatek in the next transfer window, I would love to see the guy arrive.
Especially if we can secure a transfer deal for the £40 million he is valued at right now.
