Genoa have reportedly admitted that Chelsea target Krzysztof Piatek will be leaving the club and have stuck a £35 million price tag on his head.
Piatek has become one of the most sought after young strikers in world football after starting the new season in terrific form and netting seventeen goals for both club and country, and that level of goal-finishing has led to speculation Maurizio Sarri is ready to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
After seeing Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud fail to find the back of the net on a regular basis, the Italian boss has eyed up a number of potential transfer targets and after seeing Mauro Icardi commit his long-term future to Inter Milan, Piatek has become the clubs top transfer target.
And after reports emerged which suggested Genoa ‘have reluctantly‘ admitted that Piatek will be leaving in the next few transfer windows, the Daily Star website claims that Genoa have now stuck a £35 million asking price on his head after admitting defeat in their bid to keep him at the club for the long-term.
Would Piatek be a bargain for Sarri? Here are out thoughts.
If the reports are true and Genoa have only put a £35 million asking price on the head of Piatek, then yes the man would be an absolute bargain and one that would eventually become one of the best strikers in world football.
So I would prefer that we go and spend £35 million on a man that has scored seventeen goals this season than £90 million on the likes of Icardi, wo is coming to the end of his playing career and only has a few good years left at the top level.
Piatek is only 23-years of age and has plenty to learn, but under the guidance of Sarri he could be a world beater and could be the answer to the striking problems that we currently have at Stamford Bridge.
Get the Chelsea word out there!
