Chelsea are ready to splash the cash and sign Villareal star Pau Torres – as he is the stand out option for the club

The new owners are on their way and will reportedly hand Thomas Tuchel around £200 million to sign the players that will help improve this current side

It is no secret that adding a new defender to the squad will be high up on the list of things to do – as a number of first team players are leaving the club as soon their contracts run out at Stamford Bridge

And according to reports on the Telegraph – Torres is a player that Tuchel would like to sign in the coming window with some of that £200 million transfer kitty that he is going to get

The Villarreal centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to England for some time, But the end of this season appears the most likely time for him to secure a move away from the LaLiga side given his release clause can be triggered.

Torres is a very good defender that has been linked with a big move for many season, but has not yet made that step up as he has been biding his time and waiting for the right club to come along and give him that move.

Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs on the planet, losing Rudiger is a massive blow, but if the club manage to sign a defender that is quality like Torres, the German star will soon NOT BE MISSED.

Fans will thank him for his services, but at the end of the day, players come and go, but the club keep on winning trophies
