Chelsea have been sent message and told top-class target will not be signing for a bargain, with summer exit confirmed
Chelsea have been warned that Andre Onana will not be available for cheap during the summer transfer window.
There has been a lot of speculation in the media over the past few months which has suggested that Frank Lampard is keen to offload Spanish stopper Kepa in the summer after becoming frustrated at the young mans performances on a weekly basis.
And that has led to speculation in the media suggesting that Lampard is keen to add a new stopper to the side, with Ajax ace Onana on the shopping list of the Chelsea boss after establishing himself as one of the best stoppers in Europe.
He has already admitted that he is open to the idea of leaving Ajax, but Ajax chief Edwin van der Sar has warned the Premier League duo not to expect the player’s valuation to decrease due to the current coronavirus crisis.
Speaking to Reuters, he said: “In January last year, people said we were going to lose seven or eight players but we lost only two key members [Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong].
“The big clubs such as Bayern Munich have said the benchmark fee will go down in the next few transfer windows. But it’s easier for them to say because they are the buyers.
“There won’t be a 50 per cent discount. The clubs can forget about that.”
Onana is a top-class stopper that we are massive fans of and we are just hoping that Barcelona back-off and let us complete this transfer deal, as they are the real threat in the summer.
But hopefully we dont pay crazy money to complete a deal, because he is not worth much more than the £60 million that is being talked about.
Lets see what happens and lets see if he does sign for us in the next few months…
