Chelsea are reportedly “on the verge” of securing a deal for Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic.
With rumours still circling which suggest Eden Hazard is on his way out of the club at the end of the season, there has been some reports in the media which have suggested that we are prepared to replace the Belgian superstar with the services of Pulisic, who is regarded as one of the best talents in world football.
And we were boosted by reports which revealed the attacking midfielder could be a Premier League player very soon, after stating: ‘it’s “a league where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here.”
Now the Daily Mail website has claimed Pulisic has been refusing to engage in contract talks with Dortmund, which has prompted the Germans decision to sell the 20-year-old rather than lose him for nothing in 2020.
It is reported that we will push for the deal to be done in January, especially as it has been claimed they could be facing a transfer ban after an investigation into their signing of foreign Under-18 players.
And it is believed we are also ready to meet his wage demands at Dortmund, which are believed to be the in £100,000-a-week range, as well as pay the £88 million the Germans are after.
Could Pulisic be a good buy for us? Here is what we think.
Already as one of the most dangerous and creative players in the Bundesliga, the reputation of Pulisic is growing on a weekly basis and at the rate he is developing, he will become one of the best players in Europe by the time he is 22-years of age.
Pulisic would be a fantastic long-term investment by the clubs hierarchy, and if we can get him for anything near the £88 million he is going for, then the club will have done a good transfer job.
