Chelsea on verge of announcing Brazilian transfer after latest lamps admission
Chelsea are on the verge of announcing that long-serving Lucas Piazon is all set to leave the club this month.
The forward is somewhat of a forgotten man at Stamford Bridge with his only Premier League outing come in the memorable 8-0 win over Aston Villa back in December 2012, but is his time at the club seems to be coming towards a very abrupt end.
He has made 12 appearances for Rio Ave so far this season, but that loan spell looks set to end earlier than expected and he is about to agree a transfer deal to Portuguese giants FC Braga
We have not been busy this transfer window, so once the deal is announced, it will be the first transfer deal that the Blues have completed, and Frank Lampard has warned it could be difficult to further trim his squad, with the likes of Emerson, Fikayo Tomori and Jorginho all linked with moves away
“We’ll see what happens with the squad because we’re in a very tough time in terms of Covid and how the transfer market looks,” Lamps told TalkSport
“So anything that happens, player by player, would have to be right for the club, for the player, dependent on contracts, and then myself.
“So it’s not simple.
“Generally, you want to have a squad that has a real balance to it, one that enables players to get minutes but also have good competition at the same time.
“I’m not saying this negatively about my players because I have a human side to me that understands why players are unhappy when they are not playing.
“I see that.
“But I just can’t make the decision to play everyone and that can be challenging.”
The move has been a long time coming, he needs to leave for the sake of his career right?
